A Mother's Prayer Always Follows Her Child

Posted April 30, 2013 by Alicia Haynes
All that I am or hope to be I owe to my angel mother. I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me.
"I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life." - Abraham Lincoln

Think about your mother, she carried you in her body for months. She thought about you, dreamed about the day that you would finally be born and she could help you to discover your way in the world. Just imagine how she must have felt, knowing that as a mother there would be so much responsibility, so many hardships and terrifying moments, but also there would be those moments that were full of joy and immense happiness. No doubt you know how much your mother loves you and you love her as well, but do you show how much you really appreciate all of those moments that she spent devoting all of her time to you.

Think about Abraham Lincoln's words in the quote above. He says that her prayers have always clung to him, through out his whole life. This really shows that he has let her words of wisdom and her love guide him through his life. What a proud mother, to know that all of her hard work and her words of instruction and teaching have really held a lasting impact on her son.

There are a lot of children who grow up and feel annoyed or anxious when their mother tells them to do something, even something as simple as putting on a coat as they are going out on a cold or rainy day. As we grow up we realize that all of the things that our mother might have told us, when we thought she was nagging, was really just for our protection. Think about all of these moments and remember them. Think about everything that your mother has done for you, not only the physical protection as you grew up, but also the emotional support as well.

Rather than taking a special day out of the year to show your appreciation for all of her hard work, make sure that you think of your mother often. This way, you will always remember her determination to love you and to help you in any way that she can, even if it is only her words of love and prayers that she keeps in her heart forever. You can learn a lot from your devoted mother, because even when she is far away from you, it is obvious that her thoughts are directed to her children. The ties that bind you to her are not so far off that she doesn't think of you every day.

Our mothers are special. They are the ones who will always love us, no matter how irritable, annoying or unappreciative we might be towards them. The fact is, there are not very many people like this out there who would be relentless with their love, so make sure that you keep them in your heart. Or, as Abraham Lincoln related, allow your mother's prayers to cling to you forever. This is not something that will happen, just by chance, you have to be thinking and remembering your mother's words.
